ANIMAL OF THE YEAR

    Animal of the Year takes readers on a new visit to Happy Farm, this time for a talent contest that showcases an owl from the island called Long, a candy bar-loving tiger named Baby Ruth, and a turquoise loon who builds a ladder to climb to the moon.

    Mutt believes he isn’t talented but is eager to view the show and he wants to see all the animals strut their stuff. While seated in the stands to observe the affair, he notices that the barn is ablaze in the distance and Mutt goes to the rescue.

    He dashes to the scene and helps release two horses from their smoke-filled stalls, and before you know it, the crowd is cheering and naming Mutt “Animal of the Year.”
